This post is about Ninetendo Gameboy Throwback Time. We usually reserve Saturday’s for the latest and greatest in technology, in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Nintendo Gameboy, we are going to do a bit of a throwback and show you just how far a seemingly simple device has taken us. The Nintendo Gameboy made its debut in 1989 and sold over 118 million units before it was discontinued in 2003. The most popular game was Tetris with over 30 million copies followed by Pokémon Red and Blue with over 23 million copies.
It was one of the first handheld gaming systems of its kind. It’s just that sort of innovation that led to the modern day Nintendo DS and likely played a part in the inspiration for tablets like the iPad and the advanced gaming features of smart phones today.
